Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineering Director to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams supporting the development, integration, and sales of advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

This role requires strong technical leadership, project management skills, and the ability to initiate and engage cross-functional collaborations to deliver high-performance solutions for our customers.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilites:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead and mentor the engineering services department, comprised of talented teams of process and product engineers that support introducing new wafer processing technologies to US Customers.
      • Coordinate and guide sister departments as well as the parent corporation on ramp readiness planning and support profile necessary for success of NPI activity.
      • Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, technical procedures, internal documentation, and standardization.
      • Focus on strategic planning, cross-functional alignment, and organizational development to ensure future growth.
  • Develop, maintain, and support active engagement with customers senior management and executives.
  • Work closely with US Sales and sales support teams to promote the full range of SCREEN products through regular customer meetings as well as higher level technical review meetings.
  • Collaborate with global R&D teams in Japan, Belgium, and US to align on product roadmaps and technical standards.
  • Coordinate with executive leadership to formulate product strategy, ensure proper customer engagement and demonstrate market viability of emerging technologies.
  • Interface with customers, field service and application teams to resolve technical issues, identify competitive deficits, and implement improvements.
Oversee North America engineering directly and guide global engineering operations via Japanese engineering management partners.

Drive Innovation, partnerships, and technology roadmaps in conjunction with regional and global Technology Centers alongside advanced research teams.

Prepare clear status reports for technical and executive management teams at SCREEN and the customer.

  • Accurate, effective communication is essential in this position from the engineer level up through to executive level, with tailored message content targeting specific audiences.
Demonstrate keen ability to transform clients’ needs into profitable enterprise solutions in conjunction with Japan, US Sales, and Account Management partners.
  • Coach Engineering Services Managers and all associated Technical Staff to practice soft-selling skills which enable business growth and financial objectives.
Oversee and direct strategic account business teams upholding engineering and commercial management responsibilities at both Micron and Intel

This position reports to Sr. Vice President level and will be based in Hillsboro, OR.
  • Opportunities will arise to travel to SCREEN Japan, Europe, and throughout the continental US to support wafer demos and attend customer meetings.

Job Requirements:  

10+ years relevant experience in device manufacturing, device development or a semiconductor equipment manufacturer.

5+ years of engineering leadership or management experience

Strong understanding of semiconductor integration, process equipment and applications

Self-motivated individual with the ability to be adaptable and collaborate to thrive in a timeline-driven environment with a track record of succeeding with new product introduction projects

Interpersonal communication skills with experience of presenting technical topics to management and executive level audiences.

Experience working in a global and multi-cultural environment

Familiarity with CFETs, advanced packaging, or sub-5nm process technologies is preferred

Education & Experience:

M.S. / B.S. / Ph.D. Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science or Physics.

Ph.D. in Micro-Electronics design and experience with IC design Integration preferred
